This year, at 1908 Brands, we partnered with the Rocky Mountain Conservancy to support conservation work in our backyard at Rocky Mountain National Park. Over eleven weeks, RMC-Conservation Corps crews will work side by side with park and forest service teams in Rocky Mountain National Park and National Forests constructing and maintaining trails and restoring historic buildings.
To further show our support for the protection and maintenance of our public lands, I was able to go to Washington D.C. with the Outdoor Industry Association to meet with both Colorado Senators and six Congressmen. We advocated for The Restore Our Parks Act 2019 (H.R. 1225 & S. 500) which would fund the repairs of unmaintained trails to crumbling roads to visitor centers built 50 years ago across 417 National Parks and help our non-profit partners in their work. This year, at 1908 Brands, we started the tradition of handing out a National Parks Annual Pass to each employee on Earth Day. Our nation’s national parks are some of the most iconic and majestic places in America and we're committed to using our 1% for the Planet fund to protect and advocate for the protection of our public lands. Businesses have a strong voice in D.C and speaking with representatives about what matters to you and your business is a powerful way to encourage policies that support responsible business practices.
